Australian fertilizer first to break into Chinese market

It took dedication, countless tests and trials, but for Aussie Liquid Fertilizer the hard work has now paid off. The NSW based manufacturer of earth worm liquid fertilizer has just been granted the very first licence ever given to a non-Chinese manufacturer of liquid earthworm fertiliser to enter the Chinese market.

In a market that is highly competitive and, until Aussie Liquid Fertilizer’s entrance, been controlled solely by Chinese manufacturers, the break-through is a major one. The company has been manufacturing its soil conditioning product since 1996 and prides itself on providing a product that is not only 100% natural, but also organic, environmentally safe and of a very high concentrate.

“Our product is unique because of the nature of how it is produced. We have developed our own way of extracting the fluids and when you add to that the unique combination of Australia’s soil, climate and environment you have a product that is virtually impossible to copy,” explains Chris Ma, Managing Director of Aussie Liquid Fertilizer.

The uniqueness of the product and its ability to be used as a spray on leaves and soil helped pave the way for the Chinese licence, but according to Chris Ma, being an Australian product also played a key role.

“The process of obtaining the licence was substantial and included field trials, experimental planting in different areas of China, crop and soil test, poison tests and a number of lab tests. There's a lot solid earthworm fertilisers in China, but we are the unique because of the liquidity and the soil conditioning power of our products and because of where the product comes from.

“Australia is a piece of unpolluted, clean land and it is known to produce high quality agricultural products. Agricultural products carrying the Australian made label will be viewed as being superior to others and that was certainly something that we considered when choosing the name of our product and registering to carry the green and gold logo,” says Chris Ma.

Aussie Liquid Fertilizer has already shown impressive results in China. It is now being used as a fertiliser at the Longjing green tea plantation in Hangzhou. The plantation is home to the most expensive green tea and covering only 600 hectares, the plantation is government protected.
