Australian branding gives advantage in export markets 

Being Australian is important to Birrus Matting. The market-leading manufacturer of architectural entrance matting has been an Australian Made, Australian Grown licensee for many years and uses the logo in all advertising, on order forms, products and on its website.

Birrus uses other Australian made flooring products to complement its matting range and Julie Sanguinetti has no doubt that while Australian made products may sometimes be a little more expensive, marketing a brand as Australian makes sense for our future survival. 

"Locally and internationally we compete mainly with U.S. and U.K. companies.  We have found that advertising the fact that we are Australian helps us, especially in countries where the U.S. and U.K. are less highly regarded," says Julie Sanguinetti.

“I think the general population is very conscious of the importance of buying Australian and keeping jobs here.  Price does of course come into the equation, but so does quality. We believe that we have the best product on the market and our customers recognise the long-term value of using our products.”
